Description

a little while ago a deviant asked if i would do a request, well i don't do requests anymore, that ship has set sail long ago but i was curious to hear what they had in mind and they said:

"This request of mine of kind of a test.
A preparation to see if I like how you draw this character.

I saw an old black and white picture of Faye Valentine drawn by you.

One guy commented that her bottom half is too small.
I agree with that.

Could you draw a colored picture of Faye Valentine in the same kind of pose as in that old picture?
Oh, and her bottom half should be bigger.
Not too big, just as big as it was in the actual show (Cowboy Bebop)"
well i took it as a challenge and i was ready to lay a pencil to some paper and get to work again, its been so long since i've drawn anything and i liked what i had heard.

however i was not prepared for this at all, i'm extremely rusty so i spent days looking at my old how to draw books, relearning anatomy, looking at various model poses online, looking back at that original drawing and hating every bit of it but i was inspired, i wanted to do this, no longer for that deviant but for myself. so do the deviant that issued the challenge i thank you

hopefully you like it, i changed the pose a bit, to something i found more pleasing to the eye

Her body's better, but her face is worse.
The above sentence describes, in a nutshell, my opinion of this Faye picture compared to your original Faye picture.

Her body certainly is better proportioned.
I especially like her thighs.
The color does make her look more attractive for me.
To me, it emphasizes her fine complexion and the smoothness of her skin.
Also, I do find the pose, as you yourself put it, "more pleasing to the eye".

All my criticism (or at least my main criticism) is her face.
I find that her eyes are too big, and her lips are too thick.
Her nose looks just about right, though.

Overall, a good picture, especially considering how long it's been since you've drawn something.
I'm glad my challenge has left you satisfied (it has, it hasn't it?).
